Mentoring Scheme
The purpose of this site is primarily to support the teaching I do in the BIL and IAC Clubs on Bridgebase Online.
It's a complex system to learn and practising partnership bidding is an essential part of that. The number of students
needing support is such that I cannot possibly satisfy that demand alone. We've developed a Mentoring Scheme,
therefore, whereby ALL of the people who are at different stages of learning this system can help each other,
mainly the more experienced and advanced assisting those who are just starting out on the road to Nirvana.
Below are set out the mentoring arrangements as they are at present.
The idea is that the "Mentors" on the left-hand side are helping the "Mentees" on the right-hand side. The
responsibility for initiating contact and making arrangements lies mainly with the Mentees. The aim is that
all four will meet at least once a week to play and practice. Outside that
the two mentees should practice as much as possible together and one or both Mentors can assist depending
on their availability. If it appears that getting together is awkward because of time zones or other commitments
please let me know because these pairings are not set in stone and can be changed. The pairings have just
undergone a major re-shiffle because of an influx on new students from the IAC
